The Opportunity
We're looking for an Infrastructure and Projects Engineer to join our lively Auckland Managed Services team. You'll handle everything from systems engineering and server setup to networking, firewall management, and cybersecurity. This is going to also involve pre-sales, and will be dealing with client support. If you're proactive, great at solving problems, and love delivering top-notch IT support with excellent customer service, we want to hear from you!
What you’ll be doing: Client Systems Management
Build and keep client server and storage systems running smoothly for critical apps. Keep an eye on system performance, fix problems, and make sure everything's reliable.
Regularly update, patch, and back up for security and data safety.
Keep detailed records of systems, networks, and security. Create reports with insights and recommendations.
Be a go-to tech advisor and offer IT and cybersecurity advice.
Networking & Firewall Management
Set up and manage client network gear like routers and switches.
Beef up network security to keep systems safe from threats. Improve network speed by fixing any slow spots.
Set up and manage firewalls to keep networks secure. Create and enforce rules to protect client data. Regularly check firewalls for security.
Cybersecurity
Put cybersecurity measures in place to fend off malware, phishing, etc.
Stay in the loop on new threats and offer solutions to boost security.
What you’ll need to succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent).
At least 3 years as a Systems Engineer; MSP experience preferred.
Expertise in networking, server/storage infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS).
Proficiency in network security and cybersecurity practices.
Desirable: Certifications like CCNA, MCSE, CompTIA Security+, CISSP.
Ability to be on-call and work after hours.
