The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Application Support Engineer to join a growing technology team responsible for supporting and optimising a cloud-based platform used by enterprise customers to manage complex network environments. This role sits within the Support function, working closely with engineering, delivery teams and customers to ensure deployments run smoothly, issues are resolved quickly, and the platform continues to perform at a high level. It’s a hands on role suited to someone who enjoys troubleshooting, improving systems, and working collaboratively across teams to deliver reliable solutions. The Role You’ll play a key role in supporting customer environments and ensuring the platform is running efficiently. The role combines reactive incident support with proactive platform improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting customers in the use and configuration of the platform
Troubleshooting application and infrastructure issues across cloud environments
Monitoring services to ensure performance meets agreed SLAs
Managing and resolving customer tickets and technical requests
Supporting deployments and helping resolve release or configuration issues
Implementing monitoring, logging and alerting tools
Identifying performance bottlenecks and improving system reliability
Automating operational tasks and improving support processes
Maintaining documentation and updating internal knowledge bases
Working closely with engineering and delivery teams to support infrastructure and deployment needs
What You’ll Bring
Around 4+ years’ experience in an Application Support, DevOps, or Software Engineering support role
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, RedHat or IBM Cloud
Strong Linux administration skills
Experience building or working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, CloudFormation)
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Splunk, CloudWatch or Nagios
Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery and cloud infrastructure reliability
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate technical issues clearly with both internal teams and customers
Nice to Have
Experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, GoLang or other scripting languages
Knowledge of cloud networking, storage and security configuration
Experience with Jira Service Management for incident and change management
Familiarity with serverless technologies (e.g. AWS Lambda)
Understanding of security standards such as ISO27001 or OWASP
Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum / Kanban)
Cloud certifications
