The Role
We're partnering with a well-established global technology company that is investing heavily in the next generation of its platform and products. With millions of users worldwide and a growing engineering presence in Christchurch, they're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help design, build, and modernise scalable software solutions.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role where you'll own problems end-to-end, from frontend experiences and API design through to backend services and production reliability. Working closely with product, design, and engineering teams, you'll deliver customer-facing features, contribute to platform modernisation initiatives, and help shape technical direction across the business.

You'll have the opportunity to influence architecture decisions, mentor other engineers, and champion engineering best practices, all within a collaborative environment where your ideas matter and your work has a direct impact on products used by customers around the world.


Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver features across both frontend and backend systems
• Build scalable APIs, services, and user experiences used by customers globally
• Contribute to architecture, system design, and technical decision-making
• Partner closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality outcomes
• Support production systems, reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement activities
• Mentor engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture
• Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to improve delivery and productivity

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years' experience building and delivering production software applications
• Strong frontend development experience with React, Vue.js, or similar frameworks
• Strong backend development experience using C#/.NET or another modern object-oriented language
• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI-powered and agentic coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) as part of day-to-day software development and delivery workflows
• Solid understanding of relational databases and software engineering fundamentals
• Proven experience building and deploying cloud-native solutions on AWS, including CI/CD pipelines, S3, ECS, Lambda, etc
• Strong system design and architecture skills, including distributed or event-driven systems
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams

Nice to Have

• Experience within payments, fintech, financial services, or other regulated industries
• Exposure to platform modernisation or migration projects
• Familiarity with caching technologies such as Redis
