Our client is searching for a new Security Lead to join their team. You will come in at a point where there is plenty to build, improve and automate. The environment is global, the pace is high, and the expectation is that security should help teams move with more confidence, not add unnecessary friction.
The early focus will be on understanding the current landscape, tightening up the most important foundations, and creating ways to manage risk at scale across identity, collaboration tools, cloud, data and AI. A big part of the opportunity is working out what needs to be fixed, what can be automated, and how to build repeatable security practices.
This will suit someone who enjoys both the thinking and the doing. You may have grown beyond being purely task-driven, but you still want to be close to the technology, tools and decisions. You will be trusted to shape the direction, get hands-on where needed, and build capability that can grow with the organisation.

What you’ll be doing

• Taking ownership of security across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, SharePoint, Teams and collaboration environments
• Improving security across Conditional Access, DLP, RBAC, external sharing, access control and information governance
• Extending security capability across AWS, cloud platforms, data platforms and AI-enabled environments
• Building practical security foundations, including policies, standards, monitoring, incident response and risk visibility
• Using automation, code and AI-enabled approaches to scale security capability without slowing teams down
• Working closely with infrastructure, helpdesk, business applications, data, AI and engineering teams
• Engaging with senior stakeholders and business leads to explain risks, priorities and trade-offs clearly
• Identifying real vulnerabilities and helping teams resolve them in a practical, constructive way
• Supporting the ongoing uplift of global infrastructure, endpoint management, MDM and broader security controls
• Helping define and build a security function that can scale significantly without requiring a large team

What we’re looking for
You may currently be a Security Engineer, Cloud Security Engineer, Security Lead or technically strong security specialist who is ready to step into broader ownership.
This role would suit someone who is still hands-on, but can also see the bigger picture. You might already be managing pieces of security today, but you still enjoy building, automating, solving problems and doing the work.
You will bring:

• Strong hands-on Microsoft 365 security experience, including Entra ID, SharePoint, Conditional Access, DLP and Defender
• Experience across AWS security, including IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub or cloud security posture management
• Good understanding of identity, endpoint, collaboration, infrastructure and cloud security fundamentals
• Ability to identify real risks and vulnerabilities, not just run tools or scanners
• Strong automation mindset, with an interest in using code, AI and scalable tooling to improve security outcomes
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work constructively with engineers, support teams and business stakeholders
• Comfort operating without a fully built security team or mature program around you
• Curiosity, ownership and the desire to build something meaningful from an early stage
