The Opportunity
Join Skyline Enterprises in a broad, hands-on finance role where you'll work across financial accounting, business partnering, project reporting and process improvement within an international tourism business.
Based at Skyline's Queenstown head office and reporting to the Group Finance Manager, this 12-month fixed-term position will suit an experienced accountant who enjoys getting beyond reporting and using their finance capability to help improve how a business operates.
You'll combine strong technical accounting with commercial analysis, project support and meaningful interaction with operational leaders across the business.
The role This is a varied position with exposure across both BAU finance and project activity. You'll take responsibility for accurate financial reporting while working closely with business and project leaders to understand performance, improve processes and provide useful financial insight.

You'll be comfortable asking questions, challenging assumptions constructively and working independently to get things done. Just as importantly, you'll be able to explain finance in straightforward language and build credibility with people who don't work in finance.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing financial oversight and reporting across projects, including budgets, expenditure, commitments and forecasts.
- Providing commercial insight across revenue, yield, margin, productivity and cost.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and scenario modelling.
- Translating financial information into practical recommendations for non-financial stakeholders.
- Supporting capital expenditure accounting, fixed assets and project close-out.
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, systems, controls and data quality.
- 5+ years' experience in financial or management accounting.
- Budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis experience.
- Experience working with operational or non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong Excel capability and experience working with ERP and BI/reporting tools.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in finance, accounting or business.
- Project accounting, capex or project reporting experience
