The Role

  • Join a collaborative Christchurch BI team with variety across business units
  • Build Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions the whole business relies on
  • Turn customer and campaign data into insights that shape marketing strategy

The Opportunity
Love working with data, and know your way around marketing? Join a well-established New Zealand business and help its marketing team understand what’s working, who its customers are and where to focus next.

About the role

This is a hands-on analyst role where BI and marketing meet, with SQL and Power BI at the core of everything you do. You’ll partner closely with the marketing team, turning their questions into well-structured analysis, dashboards and clear recommendations they can act on. On any given week you might be building a Power BI dashboard, digging into campaign results, refining customer segments, or finding where people drop out of the funnel.

What you’ll be doing
  • Designing and building Power BI dashboards and reports that give marketing a clear, self-serve view of performance
  • Writing SQL and developing data models that bring together data from multiple marketing platforms
  • Measuring campaign performance across channels and showing what’s driving results
  • Building and evolving customer segmentation to understand behaviour, preferences and value
  • Analysing channels and the customer journey to optimise the marketing funnel
  • Turning business questions into well-scoped data problems, and the answers into practical recommendations
About you
You’ll bring:
  • Strong, hands-on SQL and Power BI skills (DAX, Power Query, data modelling). These are essential.
  • Commercial experience in a BI, data analyst or marketing analytics role
  • A solid understanding of marketing, including campaigns, segmentation, attribution and funnel metrics
  • The ability to tell a clear story with data to a non-technical audience
  • Confidence working with stakeholders and building trusted relationships
Nice to have:
  • Google Analytics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Salesforce Data 360
  • Contact centre data experience (e.g. Bright Pattern)
  • Python or PySpark, and exposure to Azure or Fabric
You are:
  • Curious, detail-oriented, and someone who cares about getting the numbers right
  • Commercially minded, and focused on insight that leads to action
  • A natural collaborator who enjoys working alongside marketing people
  • Proactive, adaptable and keen to keep learning
Who this suits

Don’t be put off if you don’t tick every box. This role suits a strong BI Analyst with an interest in marketing just as well as a marketing professional with real strength in reporting, Power BI and databases.

Why you’ll love it

This is a genuinely great team. People stay a long time, the business invests in your growth, and there’s plenty of variety and complexity in the data. You’ll also get hybrid flexibility, a great office with easy parking, and great staff perks.
