Project Manager – Network, Security & Access Control
This is a senior delivery role at the heart of a growing New Zealand business specialising in physical security, access control, and network infrastructure for critical sites nationwide. You'll own complex, high-value projects end-to-end, and your estimates directly shape company revenue.
The Role You'll be responsible for the successful delivery of physical security, access control, network, and cybersecurity projects nationwide from design and configuration through to installation, commissioning, and handover. You'll manage all aspects of complex projects directly and through a team including subcontractors, external contractors, and technology partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing accurate, detailed estimates and quotes; your numbers directly drive project profitability
- Building and maintaining high-quality project plans and documentation throughout every phase
- Managing project financials including budgets, billing, cost control, and regular estimates at completion
- Sourcing, onboarding, and performance-managing subcontractors and external installation teams
- Leading stakeholder relationships with critical infrastructure operators across New Zealand
- Identifying and managing project risk, escalating to leadership proactively
- Mentoring and supporting a junior PM within the team
What We're Looking For Must-have:
- Deep hands-on background in enterprise access control systems; this is the core of the role
- Valid project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
- Proven ability to produce detailed, accurate project estimates and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Experience managing subcontractors and external installation teams across multi-site projects
